Activation issue on shared computer (RDS environment)

You have Office 365 ProPlus installed in a RDS, with shared activation enabled (mandatory)


When user open Office App appear this warning:


Open an Office App, go to file and account: Office is in view only mode and unlicensed...


If you go to %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Licensing there is no file.



Connect with admin credential to terminal server and open command prompt:

Run C:\program files <x86>\Microsoft office\office15>cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus 


Make note of value for “Last 5 characters of installed product key”

Run C:\program files <x86>\Microsoft office\office15>cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:“Last 5 of installed product key” For example: C:\program files <x86>\Microsoft office\office15>cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:WB222 (See Below) Repeat the step above if necessary until all keys are removed.


















After running the /unpkey: command line you will see a “Product Key uninstall successful” message.



Go to the end user's rds session, close and reopen Office: and voilà, Office works.


If you go to %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Licensing
